LUCIEN PICCARD - A Swiss watch brand that has been producing watches since its fundation in 1923 in Laussane, Switzerland. It is a brand enriched in vintage heritage and timeless style, superb artisanship and timeless designs. Soon after the company was founded, they began to embellish watches with precious gemstones. Many of their karat gold watches made for both men and women feature diamond bezels and dials that are sometimes adorned with colored gemstones. While these high-end examples are more valuable today (as one would expect), many very affordable Lucien Piccard watches have been produced as well.

Lucien Piccard timepieces have been seen on the wrists of royalty, dignitaries and celebrities worldwide including the iconic, Frank Sinatra. Many elite customers have owned high-end Lucien Piccard watches, but the brand has been used on a wide range of timepieces. Quartz watches, including pocket varieties, marked Dufonte were also made by Lucien Piccard decades later.

The Swiss Watch International Group owned the Lucien Piccard brand through 2017. The brand name is still being used to market watches with “time-tested watchmaking traditions and classic design elements.” Many models have been updated to include modern watch technology, according to the Lucien Piccard website. "Today Lucien Piccard reflects back on its rich watchmaking heritage by incorporating precision craftsmanship, time-tested watchmaking traditions and classic design elements the brand is known for, while updating many designs with contemporary aspects and modern watch technology."

What has made Lucien Piccard watches so attractive to watch lovers:
  - Timeless elegance
  - Preferred choice of royalty and celebrities
  - First to use precious gemstones

Lucien Piccard may not be one of the most well-known watches today, but it used to be one of the most coveted timepieces. Back in 1923, the first Lucien Piccard watch was made by hand in Switzerland, where the secrets of watchmaking had been developed for centuries. The watchmaker was so pleased with the watch that he named it after himself. Early on, Lucien Piccard watches were in high demand, and the brand has continued developing and innovating ever since.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.

We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.

The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
Please review the photos and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

It will be carefully packed.
